Nigerian Makes History as First African to Win IAMBCU Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Birmingham, England – Daniel Akintola has made a historic achievement by becoming the first African to win the Entrepreneur of the Year at the IAMBCU Award 2024. The prestigious event took place on 23 May at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Bradshaw Hall.

Akintola is the co-founder of Oh Prime TV, an innovative online television bouquet. Oh Prime TV is available on all smart TVs, smart boxes, and mobile platforms, offering a wide array of content to its users.

Recognizing Excellence in Entrepreneurship

The IAMBCU Award 2024 celebrates both budding and seasoned entrepreneurs who are making significant impacts in the business world. Speaking to Vanguard, Akintola highlighted the significance of this recognition. “The Entrepreneur of the Year Award category recognizes budding and seasoned entrepreneurs, who are making waves in the business world,” he said.

In his acceptance speech, Akintola expressed gratitude to key influences in his journey. He thanked Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and Dove Media for their support and impact on his business endeavors.

Oh Prime TV, co-founded by Akintola and the RCCG, has rapidly gained popularity. The platform boasts 2.7 million daily users who access over 450 multilingual channels. This wide reach underscores the platform’s success and its appeal to a diverse audience.

Daniel Akintola is a student from the Faculty of Business, Law, and Social Sciences at Birmingham City University. His academic background and entrepreneurial spirit have significantly contributed to his success.
